Casualty Series 32, Episode 10 ~ Review

Wow, what a climax to the Sanosi storyline which we’ve been following since episode one of the new series. Hands up if you’re a bit sorry he’s not staying with Dylan? I think it brought out a paternal side in the ‘grumpy doc’ which gave the incredible actor, Will Beck more to explore. Add to this some stellar performances from regular cast and guest stars alike and what an episode we were treated to. Here are a few of the highlights of BBC One’s Casualty

Dylan’s deed ~ He had to let Sanosi go in the end didn’t he, really? Dylan couldn’t truly provide a life for the boy… or could he? Plus it really looked as if for a moment he might do a runner with his charge. David was soon on the case though, imploring Dylan to do the right thing and retracting his letter of resignation too. It was a close one, but now we’ll see the fallout of Dylan coping with the loss of one of very few people in his life that he’s formed an attachment to.

Elle ~ Elle’s love life has stepped up a notch, but her boys were not particularly impressed and Blake showed his displeasure. Unfortunately for Marty, Blake’s ‘revenge’ included chilli powder in intimate places which Marty received more than just an itch from. In fact it was touch and go!

Trouble in paradise ~ I would say, from the fact that it’s been announced that Crystal Yu is leaving in the next episode, that Lily and Iain are over and done with. It’s all been a bit fraught really hasn’t it? Yet I often wondered if they would have a future if they both stopped being quite so stubborn. With Iain running off with the lads because he promised to join them in the pub and Lily deciding against going with him – the finale seems like a clear cut job to me. What a pity (and I’m so sad that Crystal is leaving – you can read my exit interview with her on Friday).

Connie’s condition ~ Connie receives an update relating to her diagnosis, it’s obviously not good news and she reacts predictably… by deleting the email. Oh Connie…

Nicola Stapleton ~ An actress who never fails to impress me and who added an extra dimension to the episode just by taking a controversial maternal role and acting it as only she can. Great casting, Casualty, Nicola Stapleton is always a winner and it’s only a pity that she was a guest star and not coming in as a permanent fixture.
